FEDA and DAKB called on all peoples to struggle for peace and democracy and to resist assimilation.
In a joint statement, the Democratic Alevi Federation (FEDA) and the Democratic Alevi Women’s Union (DAKB) called on all peoples to struggle for peace and democracy and to resist assimilation.
Both Alevi institutions emphasized that Alevis have faced genocide, exile, and oppression for centuries, but have carried their faith, culture, and languages to the present day through resistance.
The statement stressed that the main issue is to "strengthen the process of peace and democratic society," adding that Alevis are obliged to struggle against attacks and oppression both in Syria and in Turkey.
The international recognition of the HTS leader with the support of the Turkish state was condemned, while attacks on Rojava and the construction of concrete walls along the Iraqi border were described as obstacles to peace.
The statement recalled that Alevism assigns special value to women and underlined that Alevi women are pioneers in the struggle for peace and democratic society.
It continued: "The efforts and contributions of every one of us who sincerely serves peace and democracy are valuable. We also do not agree with the current approaches regarding language, which ultimately serve assimilationist policies. As a faith, the language of Alevism is the shared truth of peoples. Alevism turns to Truth in Turkish, Kurdish, Zazaki, and Arabic, and it is lived in every language. Every language builds the bridge of consent between God and humans; everyone worships naturally in their own mother tongue. Alevism belongs to no single people and no single language. This stance leads to the marginalization of our mother tongue, and the consequences are grave. Indeed, the refusal to let the Peace Mothers speak in their own mother tongue at the National Solidarity and Brotherhood Commission is a concrete example of this mentality."
FEDA and DAKB called on all the oppressed to organize and struggle, stating: "Every one of us should know that if we organize and fight, we will surely win. That is why we cry out once again: Peace for all peoples, no assimilation. For our future, let us struggle together."
