Poets, writers, and artists came together in Antalya and held a press conference calling for a peaceful solution to the Kurdish question. Reading the joint statement, Şükrü Erbaş emphasized that peace is the greatest wisdom humanity has learned through thousands of years of suffering. He said, “We want to grow not by dying, but by living. We want to look at the world not through the lifeless eyes of our dead, but through sunny windows.”
Calling for an end to conflict and for all segments of society to live together on the basis of equality, justice, freedom, and peace, Erbaş said, “The world stands on four golden pillars: labor, justice, freedom, and peace. If one is missing, the other three cannot exist. That’s why we say peace.”
Erbaş called on people to embrace the peace process and strengthen social solidarity.
